Sales & Business Development

Overview

We're hiring our first Business Development Manager to own and expand the PrismaX pipeline. This is intentionally a broad BD seat, not a narrow quota-carrying sales role: sometimes it's a straight data deal, sometimes it's a partnership that opens a market before any dollar value is attached. You'll find where demand is in a fast-moving industry, close it, and bring the field's feedback back into our roadmap.

You will

  • Build the pipeline from scratch. Stand up our entire sales funnel and go-to-market motion from the ground up — sourcing, qualification, process, and forecasting.

  • Own the playbook. Define the sales methodology, process, and messaging yourself. We give direction on which markets; the how is yours.

  • Drive Full-Cycle Sales: Identify, qualify, and close high-value partnerships with AI foundational model companies, robotics labs, and data-collection firms — including well-funded stealth and early-stage shops, not just established enterprises.

  • Problem Solve: Take on difficult, ambiguous customer requirements and translate them into structured data collection solutions based on what PrismaX has to offer.

  • Build High-Trust Relationships: Partner with Heads of AI and Engineering Directors to influence their long-term data strategy.

  • Operate Autonomously: Have full ownership of your pipeline and outcomes. We support our team, but you will have broad latitude to run as you get up to speed.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure the feedback from the field is baked into the PrismaX roadmap.

You must have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a top-tier university.

  • Proven BD experience (4 + years) within high-growth SV ecosystems, preferably within AI, SaaS, or high-growth tech.

  • A proven track record of closing high-stakes, large-scale enterprise deals.

  • Bay Area presence: You should also be able to host local events and meetups to connect with prospects and build presence in the Bay's physical-AI community.

Ideally, you would have

  • The "Athlete" Mindset: The ability to run on your own in a rapidly changing industry during a period of hypergrowth, and understanding the nuances of how training data distribution affects model performance.

  • Technical Depth: Technical familiarity with modern foundation model architectures and the underlying statistical principles.

  • Outcome Orientation: A history of being scrappy when it counts and flexibility of accepting an deliverable based salary.
